You have one clean product photo and need a motion clip for a campaign. Image-to-video gets you there — if you set it up like a photographer, not a gambler.

Start with a frame worth moving

The output is only as good as the still you feed it. Use a high-resolution image with clean lighting and a clear subject. Crop to the composition you want the motion to live inside before you ever hit generate.

A clean, well-lit still gives the model a stable anchor to animate.

Describe the move, lock the subject

Anchor the product with a reference, then describe only the camera move and environment: "slow orbit, soft studio light, subtle steam rising". Keeping the subject locked while moving the camera is what reads as premium.

  • Orbit or push-in for hero reveals
  • Subtle ambient motion — steam, dust, reflections
  • Match the light direction to your brand stills
  • Keep clips short: 4–6s loops outperform long takes

Grade for the platform

A storefront hero and a vertical ad want different crops and pacing. Render once at high resolution, then export tailored cuts. Short, punchy loops almost always beat a single long take for paid placements.

Move the camera, not the product. Stability is what reads as expensive.
